Mobility Applications
Our IP Centrex/Hosted PBX server and advanced applications provide the right set of features for the "road warrior", the occasional home office worker, or someone just frequently away from their office phone. ValueNet's mobility features working individually or in combination can be the key to better communication, higher productivity, and cost savings.
Remote Phone – This primary ValueNet mobility application extends the convenience of the office phone to the remote user. When this mode is activated, any assigned remote number, for example a mobile phone, and the desk number will ring upon an incoming call. Unanswered calls are handled by the user's office voicemail, for centralized message handling, rather than
requiring both office and mobile phone messages to be checked regularly.
Users can easily call into a centralized company number, enter their numeric ID and password, take advantage of inter-company extension dialing and corporate long-distance outbound rates, and modify their Remote Call Forward number, in addition to giving the professional
appearance that calls are being initiated from the office phone and keeping their mobile number private.
Find Me – The ValueNet solution provides multiple ways for users to have callers "find" them. For Web Portal users, call screening can be activated based on incoming Caller ID and time of day actions and/or used as the default tratment for all no answer calls. Find Me No Answer
is based on incoming Caller ID-based privileges and the user's choice of sequential or simultaneous ringing to up to five numbers.
Virtual User – Even when a user doesn't have a physical IP phone or remote phone they can take advantage of the full range of features because all call treatments work from remote phone mode for both business and residential users.
Web Portal – This internet-accessible user interface gives the user access to a wide range of advanced telephony features via their web portal account from wherever they have access to the internet and a remote phone corporate and private directory with click-to-dial ability, visual view of voice mail with choice of listening on the PC, call controls such as dial, speed dial, conference, etc., the ability to schedule and do floor control for "meet-me" conference calls, and user management of their call handling options. Remote-mode login to the user's web interface sets the default phone to the Remote Phone assigned number. Inbound and outbound calls are handled as described for Remote Phone above but with the simplicity of a PC user interface instead of a touch-tone phone interface.
VOISS Assistant – The mobile user will value this handy add-on to the Web Portal which provides discreet notification of incoming calls in real time on their choice of PDA, mobile phone, or PC, and enables them to decide what to do with the call on the spot answer it, route to voice mail or virtual ring, reply with a pre-recorded message, or assign it a “call later” status in which the Caller ID of the incoming call will be automatically dialed back in the desired time interval. Users will find this tool invaluable when expecting important calls during other activities.
Guaranteed Call Completion – Out of Service forwarding can be set to automatically forward calls to a specified number if for some reason the phone is out of service, a feature easily set by Web Portal users. Forward on Out of Service can also be set by a simple phone call using star codes, for those unexpected disaster recovery situations. Users can also enable Remote Phone as a disaster recovery mechanism prior to any Out of Service situation.
Softphone – Softphone is a step beyond the Web Portal – it turns the PC screen into a phone and requires only an inexpensive USB handset or headset. Softphone provides the convenience of an IP phone without the expense of one, and for the mobile user it makes the office phone completely portable. Wherever a laptop can connect to the internet, the user’s office phone is live, including full phone features, directory dialing, voice mail, and call screening so the mobile user has full computing and voice communication on the spot.
Additional useful features for the mobile user include unified messaging from the email environment for quickly reviewing all messages at a glance.
